Basic Presentation System

 

Visionary VisualWell© is a complete, highly competitive and versatile ML (Mud Logging) system, created with last-tech software. It comes from a solid base built through years of experience in software development and field experience. We have excluded the weaknesses and improved the strengths to achieve a solid product; our objective is modernize the ML from the beginnings as far as the inclusion of new operational paradigms. The system is self-oriented to current oil industry data standards (WITSML, W.I.T.S y LAS), and can be used in multiple countries due to its capability to handle schemes (country and/or company).

 

BASIC ML FUNCTIONS.

As starting point, VisualWell© meets the operational functionalities of a ML cabin, highlighting the following: 

§  Real-time data collection from sensors or technical instrumentation and storage into a database.

§  Lithologic control and calculations.

§  Data centralized generic acquisition module to collect drill data in the transfer standards.

§  True REAL-TIME data transmission with the last available technologies.

§  Numeric and high-quality graphic monitoring in every computer connected via intranet LAN on the well.

§  Remote transmission of numeric monitoring, graphics and data analysis.

§  Daily report creation in electronic document standards: LAS, PDF.

§  Customizable alarms.

§  Highly productive and dynamic generation of graphics, tracks and types of tracks.

§  Deep study making to meet offshore operations (near and far).

 

LOGIC UNIT OPERATIONS

VisualWell© installation is very simple, because the sever functions are encapsulated in a virtual machine (which is easily restored) and the acquisition software is distributed in a msi file. This have remarkable advantages:

§  Reduction of hardware requirements and the costs that implies.

§  Encapsulate business application, without risk of damage or lost.

§  Simplification of logic and physical assembly of the cabin.

§  Minimizing human errors in cabin enlistment.

§  Maximize data safeness.

§  It is cheaper.

 

It is worth to clarify that the web interfaces running in the unit are not internet dependent. This means it only operates under the local network and executes in all devices that can access to the domain.

 

DATA ACQUISITION

Only one software is used to receive and process hardware data through a standard, assigning to its respective WITS and/or WITSML variable. This program is capable of receive primitive WITS from multiple origins, as in some cases not all the instrumentation is placed. Unlikely traditional models, this transmission is through WCF communications, eliminating protocol barriers, increasing portability and maintainability.

One of the goals is to integrate different acquisition/chromatographs equipment manufactures; an application is coded adjusting the proprietary data to standard format, giving it to the acquisition program and this way it is possible to create transparent results for all software applications.

There is a simpler derived application that we have called Generic Acquisition Module with some strategic advantages oriented to have a logic unit in the well and all every infrastructure of the cloud.

 

DATABASE

In VisualWell© one of the main issues of ML systems has transcended, the control of historical data. For VisualWell well acquisition time is not a problem. It has the same fluency reading historical data from the first to the last day. Furthermore, visualization is not interrupted or fractionated by days and it is possible to check or visualize immediately any time interval. Big Data adopted techniques are adopted as an ideal cloud synchronization but with adaptability to Well’s Server and Data Center Server. 

 

REAL TIME

VisualWell©  is possibly the only ML system that uses SignalR technology. In few words the system is in the top of the real-time specialized technology. The responses are immediate, the scalability is unsurpassable and is extremely light.

 

MAIN SERVER

VisualWell©  system has a DATA-CENTER- like server, where the lecture of multiple wells can be synchronized in an office server or virtually through the cloud (preferable) and it dispones of a data storage. This way it dispones REAL-TIME and/or repository to clients worldwide with authorize access to the well.

 

REMOTE CLIENTS

The remote clients will be benefited for Apps with enriched functionalities and productivity. These Apps are Windows or Web HTML5 interfaces to gain multiplatform with enriched interfaces that will include features like effective customization towards ML-type graphics and generation of quality reports. The Windows® application uses the Web Api technology so the user experience is almost the same that the applications running at the well.

 

REAL EVOLUTION

VisualWell© has been debugged while tested in real field situations, even in deep wells (more than 21000 ft.) and offshore wells. With these the system has reached a high qualification to operate in the more demanding environments.

PERSPECTIVES AND EXTENSIBILITY

It is based on a classic ML dynamic system with the goal of evolve to a modern and remote ML system leaving technologically the room for improvement. It dispones of extensibility for other graphic fields and engineering calculations, with a look in specialized visualizations projects from various wells and decision making tools.
